When it comes to online advertising, there is no more powerful, yet under-utilised resource than Facebook advertisements. Many people shy away from Facebook ads, they believe them too overwhelming to figure out. In fact many of my clients have had bad experiences with facebook ads and now believe they just don’t work. Let me tell you, this couldn’t be further from the truth.
Unsure of where to start and if your business is ready for facebook advertising? Read through this blog post and see if you’re ready to take the plunge!
You need to have a goal in mind.
Facebook advertising is a great platform to consider because it puts you in touch with all types of potential customers and because it is really easy to do yourself. However, just because Facebook ads are relatively easy and affordable, it doesn't mean you should just jump into a new campaign without thinking.
In fact that’s where I come in, I turn down roughly 25% of my leads because the reality is they don’t have any goals in mind when it comes to what they want from Facebook advertising.
I can’t stress enough how important it is to remember you are not on social media to be social, to gain followers, likes or shares. You are on Facebook to attract new clients. In fact I would say the business world is becoming disillusioned with social media, many businesses looking to mimimic the advertising practise of influencers and allowing Facebook to “use” them rather than using Facebook for them.
If you don’t have your goals clearly mapped out before undertaking facebook advertising you are bound to get lost in the midfield that is facebook advertising and just begin to undertake what I call a “monkey see monkey do” strategy which isn’t a strategy at all.
If you want Facebook ads to work in the way they are supposed to, then you need to start the process with this in mind be clear about your goals. You need to have a clear understanding of what it is that you want to accomplish with your ads. Make sure that you write these goals down as they can govern the decisions you make with your ads. Do you want new customers? How many per month? How much are you willing to pay per client and per lead? The more specific you are with your goals, the more we can tailor your ads to help you reach your goals, and the more you can track your progress to make necessary tweaks to your ads.
Tracking your progress is the most important element of facebook advertising and is a great way to see what is working and what isn't as you continue with your advertisements. KPI (Key Performance Indicators) are influential when it comes to the daily running or your Facebook advertisements.
